Digital Fortress is a book by U.S. novelist Dan Brown, published in 1998 by publisher St. Martin's Press (ISBN 0-312-26312-0). Susan Fletcher is a genius mathematician who worked as head of the division of cryptography National Security Agency (NSA). Fletcher faced with code that can not be solved by the NSA super computers. This code was written by Ensei Tankado, Japan's former NSA cryptographer, who was not happy with the ways the NSA to spy on public privacy. Tankado sell this code on its website, and threatened to tell his friends to spread the code is free when he was killed. Tankado later found to have been killed in Seville, Spain. Fletcher along with her fiance, David Becker, a linguist who have memory eidetik, must find a way to stop the spread of this code.
