When Lucas Swain was little, his father disappeared. He left and just never came home. A few years later, he discovers his mother's journal. In it, she thinks Lucas is becoming more like his father. This is scary because he has no idea why his father left. His mother was concerned he'll do the same thing. Waiting for a cab ride one day, Lucas was drawn to an urn. The ashes belonged to Violet. He could understand what she was feeling. The more he finds out about her life the more he discovers what happened to his father. Though Violet, a dead person, he finds information about his father. Most of it was based on assumptions. Lucas never confirmed what really happened to his father, which left me with a dissatisfied feeling. In the end, I wondered what was the purpose of the story?
